Do I even have to explain? First, “fat” does not equal unhealthy. Second, access to fancy gym equipment isn’t the only thing that stops people from exercising. Third, not only can not everyone afford “healthy food,” not everyone has access to a variety of healthier meal options and things like fresh produce. Also, roads exist to FUCKING DRIVE ON.
There’s this enormous pressure on being thin in our society, on losing weight and keeping that weight off. But being thin doesn’t mean you’re healthy any more than being fat means you’re unhealthy. Everyone should be given the access and tools they need to make healthy lifestyle choices, like exercising and eating right (I like how the food thing was sort of thrown in as an afterthought, by the way, but eating right is just as important (if not more than) exercising) but the reality is that not everyone has that access and those tools.
So quit fucking shaming. It’s not helpful and it’s only contributing to a fat-shaming, weight-obsessed culture that has a negative psychological affect on fat and thin people alike, that affirms rather than deplores eating disorders, that just really fucking sucks.
