And isn’t that all that matters?
A person can sleep in the same bed as you, be around you on-call, or talk to you 24/7, but if they are not close to your heart, they are not close at all.
And being close to someone’s heart has nothing to do with touch, physical activity, or little “mannerisms” you may not see in real life. It doesn’t even involve pheromones.
But you sure know it when you feel someone has. When your heart is truly touched from a person, you would do anything to keep them; even if it involves waiting days, weeks, months, or years just to see them. Even if it involves 10-hour flights or 15-hour train rides. Even if it involves $50 a week, or $1,000 a year.
You would do anything in your power, will, and spirit to see that they continue staying in your life. Through online relationships, people learn patience, perseverance, resilience, and true strength to continue on. When you finally see them, you truly appreciate their existence that much more. Sure, it may end in the end, but if they find someone else, or if they do end up with the person they’ve loved for so long…
They will treat that person with the utmost loyalty, patience, and respect that they deserve all because they know how it feels to be alone yet in a room full of people.
